From the time I could hold a pencil, creating art has been a big part of my life.  After a hiatus to serve in the Army and start a family, I picked up my first digital camera and, thus, began my love affair with photography.  After a period of discovery and experimentation I found my passion gravitated to the botanical.  I suspect this is rooted in a childhood spent exploring the still wild spaces where I grew up in California.  From this grew a deep connection with nature and craving for the quiet places one goes to take it in.

My work is about capturing my perception of what is beautiful about our world, from blossoming cherry trees in spring, to the oft dismissed exquisiteness of a withered flower.  I look for subjects that move me emotionally and transport me to my childhood playing in the garden.  My desire is for my work to move others as the moment I saw the image has moved me.
