How far in advance should I book my session?

At least one week in advance.

When are you available to do portrait sessions?  

Monday through Friday after 3:30 pm and on the weekends.

When is the best time of year to schedule my session?  

While late April through late October are generally optimal for outdoor sessions, pictures in snow are lovely as well.  However, I can set up a simple indoor studio if need be and depending on the look you want to achieve.

What time of the day is best for a portrait session?  

Early morning or late afternoon.  The times will vary depending on which season it is.  In-home studio sessions are best before dark.

How do I secure my session?  

Complete the online booking request.  Within 48 hours of receiving it, a non-refundable $25 invoice will be sent to you via PayPal which represents your deposit to secure your session.  If you are unable to pay via PayPal, just call me (847-429-1036) and we can work something out.

What type of payments do you accept?  

Cash, check PayPal and credit cards through PayPal.

How long will my session last?  

It depends on the type of session you book, but they generally last up to two hours, sometimes longer if there are a lot of participants.

Where will it be?  

I will meet you in a park, garden, museum, or a location of your choosing.  Please note certain locations do require permits and/or additional fees for professional photography and some locations strictly prohibit professional photography.

Can this session be done at multiple locations?  

It depends on where the different locations are.  Please inquire.

If it rains, do you have a studio in which to shoot?  

No.  However, we can reschedule for another time that is convenient for you and me.  We also have the option of an in-home portable studio alternative.

How many people can be included?  

Up to five (5) are included with the family session fee, each additional person is $15 extra.

Can I question that specific photos be taken, such as grandchildren with grandparents, etc.?  

Absolutely, we will work together to design a session that will achieve the look you want.

Can my pets be in my photos?  

Of course, they are family members too!

What do we need to bring?  

If you have young children, please bring a snack just in case.  Otherwise feel free to bring any props that you would like to use.

I know what kind of look I want, can I bring samples for us to use?  

Yes, of course.  We will work together to achieve the look you want from your session.

What should we do to prepare for the session?  

Get lots of rest and no heavy drinking the night before! Stay hydrated, especially in the summer.  If you cut your hair, do so at least one week before.

What should we wear? 

Wear something that is comfortable, suits the location of your session and enables you to feel your best.  You can coordinate your outfits but they don't need to match - just make sure they all look good next to each other. 

Do you offer hair or makeup service? 

No, not at this time.

What comes with the session fee? 

My time and talent as well as the items included in the session you choose.  Please see my Investment page for further details.  If you don't see a session that suits your needs, please contact me and we can build a session that is right for you.

Will these images be posted online or any social media?  

I will post a few sneak peeks on Facebook within a few days following your session, so be sure to like my Facebook page using the link below.  Your password protected online gallery will be available within 2-3 weeks.  My favorites from our session may also be blogged on my website.

How long will my gallery remain on your website?

Online Galleries will remain on the website for no more than 45 days after which time it will be taken down.  If you need our gallery reposted please sent me an email request to do so.

If you do post my pictures online, do you have to post mine?  

No.  While I do ask you to sign a standard model release to allow me to use your images for promotion and advertising, it is not required as a condition of your session and you can choose not to have your images publically displayed.  

Do you offer a range of products, such as albums, canvas wraps and holiday cards?

Yes!  There are three Keepsake choices as well as additional products, including canvas wraps, metal prints, ornaments, and greeting cards.

Will we receive digital files of our images?

Yes, each package includes some hi-res digital files, depending on the session you choose and are sized for print and social media.  However, additional images files may be purchased a la carte.

The products you have listed don't include something I want, do you do special orders?  

Yes, we certainly do, just let me know what it is you need and I will let you know if we can accommodate your request.  There may be an additional fee depending on the item.

What happens if I am sick on the day of my session?  

Not to worry, we can always reschedule if you let me know well before you are scheduled.  Otherwise there will be an additional deposit.  If I am ill there will be no deposit for rescheduling for a mutually agreed upon time and date.

What if I don't know how to pose? 

I will direct you so you so you need not be concerned.  If you have specific poses you would like, please email me a picture or show me when we meet.  If you are at all uncomfortable doing a particular pose, just let me know - your happiness and comfort make the best images!

How many outfit changes can I have?  

Up to 4 wardrobe changes depending upon which session you select.

What if my kids won't cooperate on the day of our session?  

We will do our best to preserve the moment.  Bring snacks, toys or we can take a break if necessary.  Just remember your kids will be kids and while you may have a vision in mind for the outcome, they may not be on board with it, which is the joy of children. No matter what happens, you will cherish the images we make because it is a reflection of them.

There are certain features about myself that I don't like, can we shoot around them?  

I will do my best, just let you know your concerns so we can discuss the options.

I prefer black and white/sepia images, will you edit mine that way?  

Black and white or sepia images are edited that way upon request at the time of our session.  If they are requested after your secure online gallery is posted, there will be an additional per image fee.

Do you do retouching?  

Yes, basic retouching is done (i.e. - basic skin smoothing, pimple removal, etc.)  However, it is done thoughtfully and with an eye toward preserving your realistic appearance.  More in depth retouching is available upon request and may be at an additional fee depending on the nature of the request.

How many images will you make during our session?  

Quite a few.  Some will be shown, others will not because they don't all turn out perfectly.  A typical session will yield up to 25 images in your secure online gallery.

How long does it take to get my photos?  

When I have posted your previews to your secure online gallery, you have two weeks to select your final images.  When your order is received it will be sent to the lab for professional printing and will be ready in about two weeks.  However, if you've ordered a DVD, it should be ready within a few days of ordering.

What if I don't like my portraits?  

We can work something out, just let me know.

Can I order more prints/products later?  

Yes, just drop me an email and well take care of it.

Why is your logo on all of the photos?  Will it be on the images I order?  

All images are copyright of Angelini Portraits so I include my logo on any photos that are posted on the internet to prevent them from being stolen by others.  Your prints will not contain my logo, unless they are for modeling use.
